Maisir and Gharar in The Online Gambling Industry and Their Implications For Indonesian Citizens Working in Cambodia: A Study From The Perspective of Management and Islamic Economic Law

This article discusses the increasing number of Indonesian citizens working in the online gambling industry in Cambodia, which has become a serious issue both legally and ethically. From an Islamic economic perspective, engaging in activities containing elements of maisir and gharar is a violation of the principles of justice and blessing in livelihood. This research aims to analyze the practices of maisir (gambling) and gharar (uncertainty) faced by Indonesian citizens working in vulnerable sectors in Cambodia, particularly those involved in the online gambling industry. Using descriptive analysis in Islamic economics, this study examines the impact of these activities on the economic, moral, and social well-being of workers. The research findings indicate that gambling and speculative activities contain elements of maisir and gharar, which are not only detrimental to individuals but also violate the principles of justice and Islam.
